aliquant part, aliquot part The term aliquot indicates a part such that the whole is an exact multiple of it, e.g. three apples from a dozen, or one piece of a pie that has been cut exactly into quarters. Aliquant is its antonym, describing a part of which the whole is not an exact multiple.
